Umdoni Retirement Village consists of 350 facebrick cottages set on 33 hectares of land tucked away amongst lush indigenous forest of Fever and Umdoni trees. It was originally started on land donated by Prof. and Mrs Coles, with the surrounding land being bought by the society to develop Umdoni Village into what it is today.Situated in the small coastal town of Pennington, the village is 71km from Durban and 14km from Scottburgh. With its close proximity to Umdoni Park, the natural surroundings of the Umdoni Village are a wonderful feature. The entire property is immaculately maintained and has become the keen gardeners paradise.Umdoni Retirement Village, although not an Eco estate, has nearly 6 hectares of its 33 hectares retained as natural forest or wetland areas. Many indigenous trees have been left between cottages and much is being done to plant grasslands.
